Join us as we bring in the August Full Sturgeon Moon with Full Moon Flow and Restore!
The class will start with breathwork, move into the moon salutation flow, and end with hip & heart opening restorative postures. We will focus on intentional breathing, slow movement, and deep relaxation.
Moon salutations, known in Sanskrit as “Chandra Namaskara”, are a set series of movements that cool the body. They are used to calm the mind and draw your awareness inward, allowing you to fully relax. Moon salutations are excellent for women's reproductive health, for reducing the over abundance of energy in the body, and even fully balance the chakras.
Restorative yoga opens the body through passive stretching with the help of props (blankets, blocks, and bolsters). The poses are held for an extended period of time, with a focus on breath and comfort. In this class we will be focusing on opening our hips and heart. In opening the hips we allow for emotional release. In opening the heart we allow ourselves to feel compassion towards ourselves and others.
